Community Organizations and Awards
You can get many clues to what a person was like by their community associations and awards. For example, a member of the Chamber of Commerce is a business man or woman. Man of our ancestors may be members of farm organizations because many people were farmers in times past.
Awards usually come from these organizations. You may find out that one of your relatives was a really good farmer or someone that helped establish the first library in a city. Awards make the person seem interesting because you can see their true passion.
